Victoria's No Secret...

Another example of excellent marketing is our launch of a resort development in Victoria, BC... an integrated internet and print marketing campaign which successfully maintained a 29% overall increase in traffic to the website during the first 30 days.

The launch involved weeks of prep including developing a Google Earth sketch-up model, press releases, updating floorplans, e-mail releases, photography, printing posters for the sales offices, writing and preparing ads, planning the media campaign and coordination.

This collaborative campaign appeared in 45 newspapers across British Columbia and Alberta and reached over 2 million readers and 60,000 permission based e-mail recipients within a one week period, generating a 4000% spike in visits to the promoted web sites and succeeded in creating something of a buzz from the Google Earth press releases, generating over 10,000 visits and downloads.

Google analytics were in place to track interest and the immediate follow up ads were run in annual tourist publications across Vancouver Island.

Home page design on Ocean's Edge.

It may be my own company but I think the home page designs being implemented and designed for my own site are pretty attractive.

I pride myself on my creative skills and am finally getting to really create my own identity here.

What does Bounce Rate mean?

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page.

Use this metric to measure visit quality - a high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren't relevant to your visitors.

The more compelling your landing pages, the more visitors will stay on your site and convert.

You can minimize bounce rates by tailoring landing pages to each keyword and ad that you run. Landing pages should provide the information and services that were promised in the ad copy.

Running a resort...

Using my own photography is something I always like to do. These shots were all taken over a three year stay in Belize while Yim and I were managing The Inn at Robert's Grove and showcased here in the above advertisment.

During our management of this operation, we maintained a 65% occupancy rate and were named the Top Five Star Resort Managers in Belize.

Robert’s Grove, is a comfortable, gracious, beautifully appointed hideaway which enjoys a premier location near Belize's top attractions—the Barrier Reef, Tropical Rainforest and Maya Ruins.

Nestled on 22 lush acres, the luxurious Hacienda-style Inn is situated on the finest white sand beach of Placencia and is in a unique position for offering its guests a vast array of Belize’s most sought after activities, tours and adventures.

This is where we learned to operate a resort... what to do, what not to do and how to develop a sustainable tourism operation via our dive operation.

Web Content Design vs. Copywriting...

Copywriters write for every type of media... radio, television, or print. Copywriters sell your products and services with their words.

Web content design is the evolution of copywriting that maximizes your sales message for Internet users.

More than words that sell, web content design puts your sales message into the format that is best for Internet reading.

Web content design creates a cohesive sales message which, click by click, integrates your web content with your website design.

Your web content is designed to keep your traffic interested in your website until the final page— your contact page or shopping cart.

Take a look at a few of our recent sites to see how creating content works. Go to www.stephenroper.com > web sites.

The Port Authority of Victoria brochure.

Last month we completed this very nice gatefold brochure for The Victoria Port Authority to hand out at the International SeaTrade Exposition in Miami and upon their return, we were told the show display coupled with this brochure helped them exceed their expectations.

I have even had several people e-mail us to receive a copy. That's a nice feeling when both the client and the public is happy.
